Hi! I'm Mai, a rising sophomore at Stuyvesant, and I'm excited to be working as a Curriculum Director with Excelsior! I was an SHSAT tutor last summer and I took the test this year myself, so I'm extremely familiar with the test and wanted to continue helping students achieve high scores. In my free time, I love to go for a run, watch my favorite sports, or cook a meal for my family.

I joined excelsior to prepare middle school students for SHSAT because I’ve been through the process (tutored my younger siblings too) and I didn’t have much access to resources as an immigrant and first generation. A fun fact about me is that I started Stuyvesant Coded Beats that aims to introduce students to live coding and music programming, a fusion of coding and live performance, that combined both of my interest ;)
I'm currently a student at Stuyvesant High School. After in-person school commenced again in September 2021 (which was my first such year here at Stuyvesant), I began to develop a desire to engage more with my community. One way I can give back to my community is by using my academic abilities through tutoring, which led me to Excelsior Learning. I am looking forward to the opportunity to give more children in NYC a better education.
I joined Excelsior because I wanted to help middle schoolers easily access material to study for the SHSAT. The SHSAT is a really important test to many of these students and being able to prep for it is essential. A fun fact about me is that during the school year I was really involved with my robotics team and went to a competition to see our robot compete.

I joined Excelsior because I really appreciated the free SHSAT tutoring at my school that helped me get into a specialized high school and I want to do the same for the incoming high schoolers. A fun fact about me is that I taught myself how to sew.
Hi! I’m Fin and I joined Excelsior because I liked that the program would provide free tutoring and because I like working in a team. A fun fact about me is that I have a 2 year old budgie named A-king!
I joined Excelsior Learning for the opportunity to work with a diverse group of individuals and to help other students achieve their academic goals. A fun fact about me is that I love the shows Better Call Saul and House of Cards.
I’m a rising senior at Stuyvesant High School. In my free time, I love going on runs and picnicking with friends. I joined Excelsior Learning because they provide amazing prep opportunities and resources, and as someone who has benefitted from prep programs before, being a part of the Excelsior team is an amazing way to give back to the community.

I would like to be apart of Excelsior's mission and spread the notability to make our services accessible and known to a larger audience. I joined Excelsior Learning as I enjoy allowing students step into more opportunities for themselves in the future! One fun fact is that I am currently playing the piano and the guitar, but I hope to learn the bass in the future
I found Excelsior to be a great opportunity to work with others, with a goal of spreading the opportunity of non-profit tutoring! A fun-fact about myself is that I've been playing the violin for more than 5 years.
I joined Excelsior Learning in hopes of building my socialism & developing a better sense of responsibility. Not only that but, I also wanted to gain more tutoring experience to help students reach their academic potential!

Charlene Guo
Hey, I'm Charlene, a graphic design director at Excelsior! I joined in order to use my passion and experience in graphic design to help bring awareness to Excelsior's various services to help students reach their full potential. Outside of graphic design, I enjoy baking, writing, and calligraphy.
